Make You Squeal Like a Pig

Using actual artwork for movie posters is unfortunately a rarity these days. They often have way more impact than the typical movie poster. Just take a look at this disturbing one sheet for Madison County by Tom Hodge, who also did the poster for Hobo with a Shotgun.

Night of the Living Dead limited edition print @ Kryptonite.

Hobo with a Shotgun is an excellent grindhouse and exploitation throwback rarely seen anymore.  The plot is weak, expected from a grindhouse film, but the gore is well done and even comical at times.  Rutger Hauer (yes THAT Rutger Hauer from Blade Runner) gives an excellent performance.  I would love to see more of the armor-clad badasses known as The Plague, though.

Check out this AMAZING poster Alex Pardee designed for Edgar Wright’s triple screening of Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World on August 26th at San Francisco’s Castro Theater. The poster will be available in limited quantities at the event, and if any are left they’ll be put up on Pardee’s online store, Zerofriends. The tickets for this triple feature are $15, that’s right, $15 to watch three great movies and possibly meet Edgar Wright and whoever else might show up. So if you live in the area and don’t go to this, you’re absolutely crazy.
